Fairy Tales We’d Like To See Remade By Tim Burton
Posted by Cam • No Comments »

Starpulse have written a great article about which classic fairy tales they’d like Tim Burton to make a remake of. What movie would you like to see him do and what do you think of their choices?

Tim Burton and Johnny Depp’s newest collaboration, Alice in Wonderland, hits theaters today. Tim usually scores big when he remakes anything, and it is rumored that he is working on revamping the Disney fairy tale Sleeping Beauty as a live-action picture, focusing on the film’s villain, Maleficent.

Best known as the director of Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Sweeney Todd, Tim usually creates dark and quirky-themed movies and loves using Johnny Depp in his films. We picked a few more fairy tales we’d like to see remade by Tim Burton:

The Little Mermaid – The Little Mermaid is a classic Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale about a young mermaid who falls in love with a human and makes a deal with an evil witch to give up her life in the sea and become a human herself. We’d like to see Tim transform Johnny Depp as Sebastian the crab (one of the main characters in the Disney version) and cast Meryl Streep as the sea witch.

Beauty and the Beast – Beauty and the Beast was first published by Madame Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot but was famously recreated by Disney in 1991. The fairy tale is about a beautiful girl who falls in love with a beast only to find out he’s really a prince under a spell.

Follow That Rabbit to the Makeup Aisle

18skin1-1-articleInlineTIM BURTON, the director of Disney’s 3D movie “Alice in Wonderland,” which opens next month, is no stranger to over-the-top visuals (remember “Edward Scissorhands”?). Lewis Carroll’s classic tale is the perfect excuse for Mr. Burton and his crew to go gangbusters once again. Makeup aficionados will especially appreciate the Queen of Heart’s vivid blue lids and heart-shaped lips, and the Mad Hatter’s green eyes, ringed with azure, fuchsia and brick-red eye shadows and what looks to be white mascara.

The decision to license several beauty products inspired by the film was easy. “With an interpreter like Tim Burton, we saw a huge opportunity,” said Johanna Mooney, director of health and beauty business for Disney Consumer Products.18skin1-2-articleInline

Urban Decay is offering a limited-edition Book of Shadows, a pop-up box, right, containing 16 eye shadows (colors include White Rabbit and Jabberwocky black), a primer and two eye pencils ($52). And the nail company OPI has partnered with Disney to introduce four limited-edition colors, left, that include Off With Her Red ($8.50 each).

Stella McCartney’s Alice in Wonderland Inspired Jewels
Posted by Cam • No Comments »

A picture of the designer Stella McCartney’s jewels inspired by Alice In Wonderland has surfaced and Glam Chic has written a small article about it.

stellaDesigners are heading down the rabbit hole and into Wonderland. Stella McCartney is the latest talent to design a limited-edition collection of jewelry inspired by Tim Burton’s highly anticipated version of Alice in Wonderland. First Tom Binns created a collection of dazzling baubles and now McCartney has been inspired by the classic tale. She has created a cheeky Alice necklace and bracelet; the chains are adorned with charms like a rabbit, a Mad Hatter’s hat, a spade, club, heart and diamond. Each charm is done in her signature muted palette with pearl and Swarovski crystal details.

Though the movie hits theaters on March 10th, the pieces will be available next month at Stella McCartney stores worldwide. The necklace will retail for $425 and the bracelet for $395. They’re the perfect way to accessorize for a chic tea party or to add a bit of charm and whimsy to your fashion week ensemble. ~Nola Weinstein

All Time Low on ALice Soundtrack
Posted by Libiel • No Comments »

In an interview with MTV the band All Time Low confirmed that they recorded a song for the Alice in Wonderland Soundtrack.

“Until it’s 100 percent, I’m still going to say ‘tentative,’ but yes, we recorded a new song for the soundtrack,” said frontman Alex Gaskarth. The untitled tune was written specifically for the movie.

It’s said the song was written for the Chesire Cat.

“The song definitely references ideas from the film and from the story, but I wouldn’t say that it’s obvious,” said Gaskarth. “But it’s in there, for sure.”
